Kevin Fraser, also known as Spindoctor, began performing at 16 as a DJ in his hometown of Durban, South Africa. He became known as one of the more quirky, techy DJs who fused sassy house beats with soulful vocals, adding percussive flavour to 'afrolutionize' his sound.

By the time he made the move to Johannesburg to further his carrier in 2013, he had not only built up a reputation and following but was known for his versatility and connection with various audiences with the energy brought to his stage.
