A romantic storm is brewing. Two great 19th century dramas by Verdi and Brahms frame two more recent pieces of high emotion: John Adams' setting of Walt Whitman's searing portrayal of the pains of war and Nicholas Deyoe's musical essay of a more personal kind of pain.

The La Jolla Symphony presents a spectacular concert of high drama and great music with Steven Schick, Music Director and Special Guests Jen Lindemann, Trumpet and Vocal Soloists Michael Blinco, Stephanie Astone and Leslie Leytham.
